Local businesses support UP-BEAT Youth Health Leadership program

by Eleanor Ryder on November 15, 2010

A huge THANK YOU to J Cody’s, Double Dave’s,  Powersports, and the Brazos Valley Council of Governments for supporting the UP-BEAT Youth Health Leadership program!  Both restaurants have donated meals for the youth participants.  The BVCOG has generously donated training facilities and Powersports is providing transportation between the BVCOG and community assessment areas.  The Youth Health Leadership program meets one evening a week.  Middle and high school participants learn leadership skills, public speaking, how city government works, and technology skills.  Support from local businesses and organizations like J Cody’s, Double Dave’s, Powersports and the BVCOG helps UP-BEAT provide these services at no charge to the participants.  THANK YOU!!!

If you would like more information about how your business can support the UP-BEAT project, please contact project coordinator Eleanor Ryder at 979.595.1710 or upbeat@bvopn.org.  Are you interested in learning more about the Youth Health Leadership program?  Check it out under the UP-BEAT tab!
